Yes it is. We don't agree with the commonly held belief that it is cheaper to holiday abroad these days. You can get a cheap family holiday in the UK in various ways:
Camping is cheap! There's no need to buy expensive tents and it is possible to buy tents second-hand. This is because some people buy all the equipment and then find that camping is not for them. Often tents have only been used once or twice. Check for mould before you buy and make sure that all poles and pegs are included. If possible, ask to see it erected to make sure that everything is OK. Choose campsites that provide free entertainment and activities for the kids.
Register with Travelodge and take note of when their sales occur. It is possible to obtain a family room (sleeping four) for £30 a night if you book in advance. To get the best deals you need to be flexible about when are where you go. You can even plan your holiday by cheap hotels!
Stay with friends or relatives and offer them free stays at your place. If they have children and they get on well with yours, they are often able to entertain each other.
